2007 SPRING FLING EMS CONFERENCE

Brief Review:

The 2007 Spring Fling EMS Conference was yet another successful event for KAEMT. The reviews we received from students and instructors are great and will be posted in the final assessment of the conference.
Rev. Daniel M. Newman brought an incredible amount of knowledge and humor to his class. People clearly learn from him. As one person said  he is
“Extremely funny...he’s hilarious...he's GOOD ”

PHIs Lori Barton I think the lady brought the total staff of PHI to give ALS classes. Most comments from the students was that they enjoyed being able to interact with the instructors. Ms Barton and PHI also provided rides on their "Yellow Bubble Bee" during LZ Preparation and Safety Class.

Ginny Shumate's Practical Exercises must have been tuff on the students. In one event they had this large man needing to be immobilized in a cramped stairway then transported down a few stairs, you know that simple everyday rescue work, when came this quote of the day from on of the lady's "IF you find my UTERUS back there BAG IT and TAG IT"

The BLS track of the conference was provided by Duane Suttles and the State Fire Rescue Training-Area 9.  They did a wonderful job and their classes were very informative.  Duane even managed to get Whitney Innes from Anderson County SFRT to deliver a much needed HIV/AIDS update and Tom Adams, Director of Boyd County EMS came in to teach a very informative Mechanism of Injury class.  All the instructors were great and the students really appreciated the classes.
